Batik Boutique is an award-winning social enterprise that aims to break the cycle of poverty in Malaysia. We empower artisans from marginalized communities to create fair fashion, homewares and accessories, made from a traditional fabric called "Malaysian Batik".

We work with batik artisans in rural and urban Malaysia to create batik textiles on natural fibers. This fabric is then sent to the tailors in our training center to create design products you will love. Through this model, we are able to transform marginalized communities by providing employment opportunities, sustainable income and the skills to achieve financial independence.

To date, we have worked with over 300 artisans, impacting the lives of over 1,500 local beneficiaries. You'll feel good knowing that every purchase directly benefits the artisans who handcraft the product and help make a difference in the lives of their families and communities.

Batik Boutique started out as a friendship between two women.

In 2009, Amy befriended single mom Anna, who was looking for more income to support her family. They started brainstorming ideas for Anna to earn an income. Anna was able to sew, and together they purchased batik fabrics that Anna turned into unique gifts from Amy to family and friends. Soon, word spread and demand followed.

Amy founded Batik Boutique with the belief that women like Anna deserve a fair and sustainable income and the ability to support themselves and their families. Batik Boutique's vision is to enhance the skills and affordability of hundreds of artisans like Anna to produce handcrafted high quality clothing, homewares and gifts.
